Building Healthy Relationships: Interactive Training for Teens and Young Adults

Healthy relationships do not just happen. They are built with intention, awareness, and the right tools. FUSE is proud to offer a free interactive relationship training session designed specifically for teens and young adults who want to strengthen their friendship and dating skills while protecting their emotional well-being.

What Participants Will Learn

This engaging and practical session will explore how to:

  • Build healthy friendships and romantic relationships

  • Recognize red flags and unhealthy patterns

  • Understand the difference between respect and manipulation

  • Set strong, confident boundaries

  • Communicate needs clearly and effectively

  • Avoid being taken advantage of

Through real-life examples, guided discussion, and practical tools, participants will gain skills they can apply immediately in everyday relationships. Our goal is to equip young people with the confidence and insight needed to make healthy choices and advocate for themselves.

Meet the Facilitators from Rugged Grace Counseling

This session will be led by experienced professionals from Rugged Grace Counseling who are passionate about helping individuals and families grow and thrive.

Stephanie Gustin, MA, Doctoral Student–PhD, CCFS

Stephanie began her clinical work with Rugged Grace Counseling in early 2020, providing mental health care through telehealth during the height of the global pandemic. Supporting individuals and families through such an uncertain time reinforced her deep belief that healing is not only possible, but powerful — and no one has to do it alone.

With more than 20 years of experience, Stephanie has supported children, teens, adults, couples, and families in areas including trauma, child and family crisis, ADHD/ADD, autism-related behavioral needs, post-partum concerns, substance abuse, anxiety, depression, dual diagnosis, and relationship stress. Her background includes Applied Behavioral Analysis, trauma-informed care, family crisis intervention, and behavioral treatment planning, allowing her to tailor treatment plans with both compassion and clinical precision.

Stephanie holds a Master of Science in Psychology with a concentration in Addictions and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a concentration in Applied Behavioral Analysis from Purdue University. She is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Psychology with a minor in Sociology, expanding her expertise in clinical assessment, social behavior, and trauma-related research.

Her passion is helping individuals and families build resilience, insight, and sustainable tools to navigate life’s challenges. She strives to create a space where people feel seen, valued, and equipped to move forward with clarity, confidence, and courage.

Andrea Applegate, BS, ABA

Andrea has been passionate about helping others since childhood and specializes in supporting children, teens, and young adults as they navigate and overcome challenges.

She is currently pursuing a degree in psychology with a concentration in Applied Behavior Analysis, inspired in part by her son’s journey with ADHD and ASD. Andrea is particularly attuned to the unique needs of children and teens in split-home situations, providing guidance and practical strategies to help them thrive.

With an empathetic approach and dedication to individualized care, Andrea’s goal is to empower individuals to build resilience and confidence in their daily lives.

At FUSE, we believe strong relationships are foundational to lifelong well-being. This interactive training is another way we are investing in young people - giving them the tools to build relationships rooted in respect, confidence, and emotional safety.
