Summer Social Skills Group

FUSE is pleased to offer our first ever social skills development groups this summer.  These groups are designed for students who need help learning how to make friends, initiate/ maintain conversation, participate in group activities, compromise, and win/lose when playing games. Weekly lessons will use a combination of formal and informal activities in a small group atmosphere.  Sessions include leader-directed instruction with hands-on practical exercises that may include video modeling, skits, crafts, group games, the iPad, and a simple snack for skill reinforcement.  Unstructured conversation also allows students to practice skills without adult interaction but with instant feedback from the leader.

Sessions will be on Wednesday mornings at St. James Lutheran Church, 1741 S State Street, Greenfield. Registration fee is $60.00, payable in advance or at first session. Limited scholarships are available for those with financial need.

Space in this program is limited to 10 kids per session. Application deadline is May 28.  Applications will be reviewed and parents notified if their child has been enrolled by June 3.
