Music Therapy Training at Shelbyville Meeting

Registration is now open for the September parent meeting in Shelbyville. We are pleased to host Emily Hurst, MT-BC and Janell Hann, MT-BC, from Insights Consulting of Indianapolis, who will be giving a 60-minute presentation on Music Therapy.

What is Music Therapy?
In the world of unique challenges, the options for therapies may seem endless and overwhelming. Too often the opportunity to be educated about how these services will benefit the people we care for is unavailable. Music Therapy has been shown to have evidence-based, consistent, positive results with this population, and at our meeting on September 14th, we will have the opportunity to be educated and have our questions answered about this growing field (Which is covered in the state of Indiana on the Medicaid waiver!). This presentation will include specific examples of the use of music therapy with people with unique challenges, an opportunity to see music therapy in action through experiential learning, and a chance to ask questions of the people who are working in this field each day. We hope you are able to join us for this evening on the 14th!
