August 24-25

FUSE is pleased to host our 2nd annual Family Campout!  This event will be held at Camp Woodsmoke, located in Greensburg.  The camp is operated by the Lions Club, District 25.  It is located on 264 gentle rolling wooded acres, and is fully accessible for people with mobility needs.  The camp offers both primitive and cabin camping facilities for outdoor recreation and nature activities.  Camp Woodsmoke is reserved only for FUSE families for the weekend.

The comfortable cabins, all equipped with bunks, each have a capacity for 8-10 people.  A central heated bath house provides modern, and efficient toilet facilities and shower accommodations. Sidewalks connect all the cabins, restrooms, dining hall, and a large 40’ x 80’ shelter house.  These enable physically challenged campers to make their way around the camp quickly and easily.  A special playground with adaptive equipment is located in the recreational area.  There is also room for a very limited number of campers, as well as space for families to set up tents.  If your family wants to bring your own camper or tent, please make sure to indicate that on the registration form.

Preregistration is required by August 16.

Check in at Camp Woodsmoke begins at 10:00 am.  Check out will be Sunday at noon.

Cost is $10 per person, but no more than $50 per family.

Your fee includes use of the cabin, all camp facilities, and three meals.  Lunch and dinner are provided on Saturday, breakfast provided on Sunday.  Smores supplies will be provided for the evening bonfire.

Some organized activities will be planned, but there will be lots of time to do your own thing with your family or with other FUSE families.   Please bring along sports and recreation equipment, games, etc.

Families are asked to bring a snack item to help supply the kitchen for between-meal snacks to be shared with the group. Snacks could be anything from pretzels, goldfish, crackers, fruits, cheese cubes, or other items your own family enjoys.  Meals will be simple and limited in scope, so if your family needs special foods for allergies or other dietary needs, please bring your own foods and plan to prepare what you need. You will have access to the kitchen facilities if needed.
