Community Living Options for Young Adults with Disabilities

Do you have a plan for community living for your student after high school?  Or is your young adult living still living at home with you, and you are wondering if they are going to live with you forever?  The answer is–they don’t have to!   Attend this training where you will learn more about potential funding and services available to help your adult child establish a home outside of your own someday.  Speakers from the Bureau of Developmental Disabilities, Developmental Service Alternatives (DSA) and accessABILITY Independent Living Center will share information about funding, community living settings such as group homes, supported living (waiver homes), and Section 8 and 42 housing, and the supports and services available in these settings to help young adults with disabilities establish and maintain their own adult lives in the community.
