Janice Cassell, President:

Janice is the Preschool Intake Coordinator for Hancock Madison Shelby Educational Services. Janice and her husband, Ron, live in New Palestine and have three grown children and five grandchildren. Janice enjoys being active in the community. She currently is a member of the Board of Directors for The Arc of Hancock County, a member of the Welcome Committee and Furniture Ministry at St. Michael’s, and is currently the president of Preceptor Alpha Kappa Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi sorority. Janice greatest joys in life are spending time with her family, volunteering, and traveling.

 

 

 

Paula Parke, Vice President

Paula is an environmental consultant for Eli Lilly and Company. She and her husband Neil reside in western Hancock County with their daughter Megan and son Ben. In addition to FUSE , she enjoys church activities, fine dining, spectator sports and spending time with family and friends.

 

 

 

Marcia Piercy, Secretary

Marcia is an Assistant Director of Special Education for Hancock Madison Shelby Educational Services. She serves the students in the Southern Hancock School district. Marcia and her husband Mark reside in western Hancock County with their sons, Justin and Dylan. Justin graduated from IU and Dylan is a freshman at IUPUI. Marcia is a board member of the Daytime Ministries at Mt. Comfort United Methodist Church, President of the Indiana Council for Exceptional Children, and a member of the Behavioral Institute for Adolescents and Children. She enjoys entertaining family and friends, running, and reading.

 

 

Sharon Eads, Treasurer

Sharon is a CPA at Rider Kenley & Associates in Indianapolis. She works primarily with small businesses and individuals as a tax accountant. She also does bookkeeping and is a QuickBooks consultant. Sharon lives in Greenfield with her husband Chris and four children Seth, Hannah, Alexis, and Ryan. As a family they enjoy camping, hiking, bike riding and just being outside, spending time with friends and family. Sharon also likes cooking and painting.

 

 

Ruth Alewine, Director

Ruthi is retired from a 30-year career with the State of Indiana. During those years she administered Public Assistance programs (Medicaid, Food Stamps, TANF) and Child Protective Services and was the Director of the Hancock County Office of Public Welfare and a Regional Manager with the Department of Child Services. Ruthi and her husband Jim live in the northeastern part of Hancock County, near Wilkinson, where they spend their time with their menagerie of horses, goats, chickens, cats, dogs, and one lone donkey. They have three grown sons, two of whom are married, and an assortment of grand-dogs and cats. Ruthi enjoys reading, traveling and volunteering with FUSE and Edelweiss Equine-assisted Therapy Center.

Sarah O’Brien, Director

Sarah is an instructional assistant at New Palestine High School and is currently pursuing her license as a real estate agent. Sarah is an RPR for INSource and a Partners in Policymaking graduate.  She lives in New Palestine with her husband Jeff and two children, Ben and Carrie.  Carrie has cerebral palsy resulting from a stroke five days after birth.  Sarah enjoys golf, traveling, dining out and being with friends and family.

 

 

 

Juanita Swallers, Director

Juanita is Convention Services Manager at Hilton Indianapolis Hotel & Suites. She and her husband Kenny reside on the east side of Indianapolis with their son Nicholas who has Down Syndrome and is developmentally delayed. Juanita sings in the choir at Holy Spirit and enjoys movies, dining out, and spending time with her family.
